SUN SPOTS: DESCRIPTIONS AND REMEDIES
Sun spots are red scaly patches on the skin produced by exposure to ultraviolet light. They are not skin cancers; although skin cancers have a tendency to arise in pre-existing sun spots. Doctors call sun spots solar keratoses. It is not necessary to have any treatment for these spots; but women especially like to have them removed for cosmetic reasons. The simplest method of ablating sun spots is to spray them with liquid nitrogen. A blister forms which lifts the lesion off the skin. Scar formation does not occur unless freezing has been over enthusiastic and too deep.
Home Remedies
Avoid ultraviolet light at all costs. Remember that solar is nuclear. The solar systems greatest uncontrolled nuclear reaction sits right above your head 12 hours a day. Longer if daylight saving is in force because you get up sooner and stay up later to catch it.
Vitamin A derivatives are known to reverse the effects of solar induced changes. They need to be used for a minimum of three months. The products are applied at night and removed in the morning because some Vitamin A preparations produce photo sensitivity.
